BEAVERTON, Ore., July 23, 2013 - Tektronix, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, today announced the industry's first compliance test and debug solution for Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP+) compatible products. Based on Tektronix DPO/DSA/MSO70000 oscilloscopes, the new QSFP+ solution includes all the necessary components to design, test and validate QSFP+ designs including HCB fixtures and test automation and debug software tools.QSFP+ ports is a compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used for data communications applications. It interfaces a network device motherboard such as for a switch, router, media converter or similar device to a fiber optic cable. The latest specification, published by the SFF committee, enables data rates of 4X10Gb/s with support for Serial Attached SCSI, 40G Ethernet, 20G/40G Infiniband, and other communications standards. QSFP+ modules increase port-density by 3x-4x compared to SFP+ modules.
The ExpressPort? QSFP+ E-Series and H-Series connector families are rated to 28 Gbps and 40 Gbps respectively per channel (4x28), featuring a stamped and formed contact design providing improved mechanical durability. This connector features an integrated grounding structure and resonance dampening features for superior crosstalk performance. The have three times contact design is optimized for a smooth impedance pro le resulting in improved SI performance. The QSFP connector, cage and cable assemblies and loopbacks are part of a highly-integrated system that combines optimal real estate, power and port density. Molex 's Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable QSFP+ solution is designed for high-density applications. Components of the system include the Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) shielding cage, passive cable assembly and a 38-circuit SMT host connector.
